Cedarwood Cove is located in Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Tofino is on the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation, who have been the stewards of this land for time immemorial.The cabin looks out to Meares Island, a Tla-o-qui-aht tribal park.

As proud Tribal Parks Allies, we are honoured to live, work, and play in the unceded Haḥuułi of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. 1% of your accommodation fee is annually donated to support the Tribal Park, which protects and restores the land and culture of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation.

Otherwise known as Clayoquot Sound, the UNESCO designated the region as a biosphere reserve for its rich biodiversity. The Pacific Rim National Park has a variety trails, a bike path and wide-open beaches to explore, surf and cherish.

Getting here

Check the ferry schedule at www.bcferries.com and look for route: Horseshoe Bay, Vancouver to Departure Bay, Nanaimo, or from Vancouver airport choose Tsawwassen, Vancouver to Duke Point, Nanaimo. If you are coming via Port Angeles, USA to Victoria, check www.cohoferry.com.

The Tofino bus collects from the ferry terminal at Nanaimo and has stops across Vancouver Island including Victoria www.tofinobus.com. Ask your bus driver to drop you off at Lynn Road in Tofino, Cedarwood Cove is a 5-minute walk from there.

Driving takes approximately a 3.5hr trip to Tofino from Nanaimo, and 5 hours from Victoria. When you reach the junction for Ucluelet, turn right towards Tofino along the Pacific Rim Highway for approx 25 minutes. You will see a tourist info centre on your right, 2km after the info centre, look for the grey rocks on your right this is Cedarwood Cove.

For international flights, Victoria, Vancouver, Comox are the closest international airports. If you are flying into Long Beach airport in Tofino, shuttle, cab and car rentals available.

Q: What’s included during my stay?

A: We include with your cabin bicycles (bikes, helmets, locks), surf gear (wetsuits, foam surfboards, foam surf racks for your car), beach toys and totes, yoga mats, breakfast supplies (granola, almond milk, coffee, cream, tea, sugar) , cooking essentials (oil, spices, salt, pepper), firewood, raingear (rubber boots, jackets, umbrella), blankets (inside, outside), books and games, bathroom essentials (shampoo, conditioner, soap, towels, tissue), flashlight, binoculars.

Q: What do I have to pay for as an extra during my stay?

A: Paddleboard tours, Packages & Retreats, and bringing your dog.

Q: Do I have to book a retreat or a package to stay here?

A: Not at all! Simply come and relax in the hot tub, drink coffee and gaze at the spectacular views.

Q: How many people can I have in the cabin?

A: The cabin is for 2 people (and could additionally accomodate a child upto 3yrs old).

Q: Can my friends visit me at the cabin?

A: Sorry no, we are a private residence. We ask that you meet your friends at the local beach or coffee shop.

Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Yes but please check in with us first, we have doggy etiquette rules and a one time fee of $40.

Q: Do I have to take a tour if I want to go paddleboarding?

A: Yes and you will thank us for it! Paddleboarding on this side of the ocean means navigating swell, tide times, tide heights, weather and the topography of the land. Your hosts are well experienced in this region and will ensure you have the best time, make the most of playing on the ocean and learn new skills and knowledge about the region.

Q: Can I bring my own paddleboard and/or kayake?

A: Yes but please see above.

Q: Can I get married here?

A: Yes! We love elopements and have a special package for those interested in eloping and intimate weddings for 6 people or less.

Q: Since you live on site, do I have any privacy?

A: Yes! The cabin is a self contained, self sufficient cabin with everything you need. It has a private entrance, and a privacy fence, a private deck, a private hot tub, a private firepit, a private garden, private dock and private hammocks. We love our privacy too but are very social when the moment is right :) We live onsite in the main house, which is next to the cabin. We also have a caretaker/cohost on-site who lives in a small private cabin on the driveway.

Q: Can I smoke?

A: Sorry no, if you need to smoke we ask that you do it offsite.

Q: Can I have a fire?

A: Yes! You have a private fire pit and we supply the wood, paper and lighter. We can even help you start it if you need some help. Please put fires out responsibly.

Q: Is there a quiet time or can I party all night?

A: Yes there is a quiet time of 10pm and we ask that guests not use the hot tub after this time, and put out all lights and fires. We live in a residential neighbourhood and cherish our neighbours and sanctuary very much. This is not a party place.

Q: Are there any bears around?

A: Yes, but not roaming through our property (but that is possible). We live in the wilderness and there are lots of wildlife in this region including bears, wolves, cougars, eagles and crows! Please be wildlife aware and do not leave food outside, carry a flashlight with you and make a loud noise to scare animals away. Clayoquot Sound is a wildlife corridor for many animals and we are so lucky to live in their territory, keep wildlife safe by being responsible.

Q: What are your protocols for COVID?

A: We clean and sanitize the cabin and all equipment between each guest and practice protocols in line with BCCDC.
