Summer Days at Cedarwood Cove – Our Favourite Things to Do in Tofino
There’s something undeniably magical about summer in Tofino. The days are long, the light is golden, and the wild coast comes alive in the best way. At Cedarwood Cove, we’re lucky to call this place home and even luckier to share it with you. If you’re planning a visit, here are a few of our tried-and-true summer favourites to help you soak up every salty, sun-kissed moment.
1. Mornings Start Slow (and Delicious)
We love starting the day slow with coffee in hand, curled up in the outdoor hot tub, watching the tide roll in. Smoothies made with greens from our greenhouse are a regular feature here. If you're heading out early, a visit to Tofitian cafe is a must for a caffeine and pastry fix.
2. Hit the Waves
Tofino is Canada’s surf capital, and we think there’s no better way to feel connected to the ocean. Whether you’re a beginner catching baby waves at Chesterman Beach or a seasoned surfer, the surf is part of the heartbeat here. We include surfboards, wetsuits, and surf bikes with your stay so all you have to do is suit up and roll down to the beach!
3. Explore by Bike
Speaking of rolling, one of the best ways to explore Tofino is on two wheels. We provide cruiser and surf bikes so you can ride the multi-use path from the cabin to beaches, cafés, shops, and more. Pack a picnic, stop at Tacofino (yes, the Baja fish taco is worth the hype), and make your way to Chesterman Beach for a dip.
4. Paddle Into the Wild
Calm summer mornings are perfect for a paddleboard adventure. Launch right from the backyard at Cedarwood Cove and glide through the quiet protected waters - a UNESCO Biosphere Region, watching eagles soar and seals play. We also offer guided paddle tours if you want to learn more about the area while soaking it all in.
5. End the Day With Firelight and Stars
Evenings are our favourite time here. Grill local salmon over the fire, pour something lovely into a glass, and watch the sky turn soft and pink. Then climb into your king-sized bed under the skylight, drift off to the sounds of the Cove, and dream about doing it all over again tomorrow.
